Here we are, back again looking at the 40 Songs I worry have been forgotten over the years. These songs are awesome and I remember them with such great affection - I worry not many others remember them though!

40 Songs You Should Remember - The First 20
So I’m about
to turn 40, cue the shower scene sound effect from Psycho. And it’s a pretty
reflective time. I’ve been compiling a playlist of my favourite all time tracks
for my birthday party and it made me think about certain songs that I love, songs
that others seem to have forgotten. Sure. I know that some of you will love
these tracks as well, but as a whole, they have been left behind. These tracks
aren’t on compilation CDs for the “Best of the 80s”, on Music Max’s countdown for
the best videos on the 90s or played on classic hits radio stations. These are
the ones we have on old 7” vinyl, cassingle or CD single; and like me, you may
have had trouble tracking down the digital version.

Top 5 Songs: Paula Abdul
It's a special Top 5 this week. For regulars readers of my blog (or just casual ones), I am also an actor in Melbourne, Australia. Tonight I am opening in a play called "Home Invasion" at La Mama in Carlton. One of the characters in the play, is none other than this week's Top 5 recipient, Paula Abdul.

Single of the Week: This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like a Motherfucker - Maroon 5
Maroon 5 are quite fascinating right now, their sound is evolving as they explore the more pop side of their chosen rock/pop genre. And if there was ever going to be an anthem for the upcoming American summer, then this is it.

Top 5 Songs: Janet Jackson
Last week was Whitney, this week Janet - showcasing all my favourite divas. And Janet is a diva I love. We have had a long history, ever since the release of her "Control" album. She is an amazing singer and performer - seeing her perform at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in the mid 90's was a highlight for me. Her songs are some of the best pop tracks of all time.

Single of the Week: Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood
I'd hate to be Katy Perry right now! Taylor Swift's ode to their feud has just gone global. Taylor Swift can do no wrong right now, as she goes from strength to strength. She is the biggest star in the world right now - and even though this remixed single has only just come out, it is already our single of the week. Taylor Swift can do no wrong!

Book Review: Poster Girl - Beccy Cole
When it comes to Beccy Cole I would firmly put myself into the column of casual fan, I've enjoyed some of her music, went to a gig of hers at Rooty Hill RSL with my Mum and had a great time. And my highlight, I got to interview her when I was a radio announcer on Penrith radio. Like she claimed in her "Poster Girl" song, "I'm the girl who sings the crazy songs". But as the years have gone on, I've become more aware of her and respected her greatly. Then she came out and she had my full attention - how great that a major country star announced she was gay. I was very keen to read her autobiography, and now that I have, this casual Beccy Cole fan has become a major fan.

Top 5 Songs: Whitney Houston
What a tragic figure Whitney Houston was. A beautiful woman with a truly special voice. She had the world in her hands, recognised by many as having the best voice in the world. Then with a marriage to Bobby Brown, drugs became a problem for her. Then just as she tried to get her life back together, she died tragically. Her legacy? Some truly inspiring music.

Single of the Week: Nobody Love - Tori Kelly
Self belief is an important thing, it's how stars are made. When doors slam it can be humbling, but a true believer gets up and tries even harder - Tori Kelly has been knocked down before but now it's finally all paying off for her, with a massive breakthrough song that may be one of the catchiest of the year.

Top 5 Songs: Divinyls
It was such a sad loss to the music industry when the ultra talented Chrissy Amphlett passed away. She was an amazing singer, great songwriter, massive personality and brilliant live performer. Her absence is noticeable, but she will always live on through her amazing songs.

Single of the Week: Ghost Town - Adam Lambert
"Ghost Town" must be the song title of the year, a few weeks ago my single of the week was the glorious "Ghosttown" by Madonna; and this week there could be no other pick than the amazing return of Mr Adam Lambert.

Album Review: It's the Girls! - Bette Midler
Apologises, I've been wanting to get this review up for a couple of weeks but life has been keeping me busy. But glad to finally to be writing the review now for a great little concept album from one of the greatest personalities in the industry.
Logies 2015 - Where were the Aussie singers?
So it was
the Logies last night, and it was one of the sleekest Logies in years. There
were some deserving winners – so happy to see the amazing Wentworth win “Most
Outstanding Drama”, and how beautiful was Carrie Bickmore’s speech when she
deservedly won Gold? There were some great presenters too, Dave Hughes opener
was hilarious and Julia Morris always makes me laugh hysterically.
