Single of the Week: Ghost Town - Adam Lambert

"Ghost Town" must be the song title of the year, a few weeks ago my single of the week was the glorious "Ghosttown" by Madonna; and this week there could be no other pick than the amazing return of Mr Adam Lambert.

Adam's last album "Trespassing" went to number one in the US, making him the first openly gay artist to reach that milestone. How was he thanked by his record label? He was dumped. Well he's gotten the ultimate revenge, success. He's signed with a new label, Warner Bros Music, and is working with pop producing legend, Max Martin, whose most recent work was Taylor Swift's "1989". Prepare for Adam Lambert to be massive once again.

So why is this song so good? So many reasons, but first, and always most important for a "Glambert" release, his voice is flawless. It is so rich, powerful and bloody sexy; it's quite irresistible. When you think of the best voices to grace the American Idol stage there are only three who really stand out, and naturally they are the ones are still relevant today, Mr Lambert, Jennifer Hudson and the amazing Kelly Clarkson (and to think, only Kelly won her season).

Then there's the music, from the beautiful acoustic start till the moment the beats kicks in, this is addictive stuff. And who doesn't love a good whistle track? It's great here and will have you whistling along all day. I can't wait to hear the remixes of this song, as I know it will go off on the dance floor!

Lyrically the song is also stunning. With melancholic undertones, this is a beautifully penned track; "Now I'm searching for trust in a city of rust, a city of vampires. Tonight, Elvis is dead and everyone's spread; and love is a satire". Powerful stuff, and proof that pop music truly is art.

Loving this song, and I am very bloody excited for the release of the album, "The Original High" in June. Let's hope he comes to Australia for some concert dates - now that would be amazing. Check out this great song from one of the world's best vocalists!
