Doing very well for himself now he's gone solo, Zayn managed to take home 40% of the vote. Shawn Mendes was second with 25% and Nick Jonas was third with 20%.

OUR PICK: Zayn

Well we agree with your pick! Though this was a tough one, it has been a strong year for men in pop - and that's not always the case. But Zayn had an amazing year, we have even included four of his songs in our upcoming Top 50 songs of 2016 list.

Best Female Artist of 2016

The Nominees:
  • Ariana Grande
  • Britney Spears

YOUR PICK: Ariana Grande

Sia may have taken out best song and album, but as female artist you all voted Ariana on top with 35% of the vote, Sia was close with 30% and third was Melanie C on 15%. Early on in this vote it was almost a 5 way tie!

OUR PICK: Ariana Grande

While we LOVE all 5 ladies, there could only be one winner for us. Ariana has had a great year, her "Dangerous Woman" album is brilliant and the singles have been sublime. She seems to only be getting better.

YOUR PICK: Sia

This was a pretty big win for Aussie native Sia with 60% of the vote. Aussie legend Jessica Mauboy scored 20% and wonderful The Veronicas scored 15% to come in third.

OUR PICK: Sia

You couldn't look past Sia this year. Her album was amazing and the singles from this year, "Cheap Thrills" and "The Greatest" were very special indeed. Plus, she released a whole bunch of soundtrack songs that were all great.

There could never be any doubt that Madonna would win this. We saw Madonna in both Melbourne and Sydney, and her "Rebel Heart" tour was awe inspiring and truly spectacular. She is a gifted live performer who really does give the world's best live show.

The Nominees:
  • Belinda Carlisle

OUR PICK: Totally 80s

This was a hard category cause we LOVED all these shows, but we couldn't go past this massive line up of 80s legends. Paul Lekasis was sexy, Berlin was passionate and we had been dying to see Martika since the 80s. It was a brilliant night of music that we loved. We need a Totally 80s 2!!

The Nominees:
  • Alessia Cara
  • Daya
  • DNCE

Joe Jonas and his band had a massive 2016 led by the catchy as hell, "Cake by the Ocean". In our vote they took out 35% of the vote, Zayn was second with 25% and there was a tie for third, with Dua Lipa and Alessia Cara both scoring 15% of the vote.

OUR PICK: DNCE

We agree with you, though it was a strong category. We saw DNCE open for Selena Gomez this year and they were brilliant - so we had to pick them as the best new talent of 2016.
