Top 5 Songs: One Direction

Goodbye Zayn. What a sad day for One Direction fans yesterday, but I guess we could all see it coming - he clearly hadn't been happy for a while. So who knows what the future holds for the group? Robbie Williams came back to Take That for an album later in their careers but Take That were never really the same after Williams left. But no matter what happens with the boys, we had four excellent albums with some amazing tunes, tunes I'll be listening to for a while.

Album Review: Let the Road - Rixton

Rixton have been around for a year and have finally released their debut album, after already releasing four singles in the US. The good news is, the album was well worth the wait! "Let the Road" is an accomplished first album with great singles and very strong album tracks.

Single of the Week: Jordin Sparks - Double Tap (featuring 2 Chainz)

Little Jordin Sparks is all grown up, the former American Idol winner is best known for her very sweet early tracks, "Tattoo", "No Air" and the duet with Guy Sebastian, "The Art of Love". Well she's not so sweet anymore singing, "Bet you won't double tap that hoe"!

Top 25 Glee Songs

Glee has been a once in a lifetime kind of show, a show that creates a genre. While many have forgotten how good it was, there can be no denying the impact it first had when it aired. I remember watching the pilot and being awestruck. I've watched every episode, and while the show has been sometimes inconsistent, it has always been fascinating. And I always hurry to watch a new episode.

Single of the Week: I Really Like You - Carly Rae Jepsen

For those expecting Carly Rae Jepsen to just be a one hit wonder, be prepared to be greatly disappointed. "Call Me Maybe" was one of those true cultural phenomenons, a song that just ticked all the right boxes and was everywhere. She did have a second number one here in Australia, her duet with Owl City, "Good Time", but many don't count that. But now be prepared for the new track, "I Really Like You", to explode.

Live Review: Brooke Fraser - The Forum Theatre, Melbourne

There's a list of performers I've been dying to see, slowly I've been whittling the list away. Another was scratched off the list last night when I saw the beautiful Brooke Fraser at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne. And boy she didn't disappoint.

Top 5 Songs: Brandy

Time for a new blog theme, a Top 5 Songs from an established artist with a lot of hits. Up first, the ultra talented Brandy. I've loved her since her first release, 21 years ago. Wow, that made me feel old. Brandy is the kind of artist who's always had great singles, pieces of pop and R&B gold that were always memorable.

Album Review: Piece by Piece - Kelly Clarkson

Welcome back Ms Clarkson, we've missed you! Now I have been a massive KC fan since the very beginning, this woman knows how to sing and she proves it once more with her first new, non-Christmas studio album in 4 years. This a very strong album from one of the best vocalists in music today!

Single of the Week: Calvin Harris - Pray To God (featuring HAIM)

Now I've been wanting to put this as my single of the week for a while, it is such a great track, so I'm glad to do it this week. In fact, everytime I've played it recently, at work or when friends have been over, everyone keeps commenting how much they love this song. And it's easy to see why.

Album Review: Madonna - Rebel Heart

Time for the conclusion to Madonna Week, and what a perfect way to finish, a review of the new Madonna album, the fantastic "Rebel Heart". I get so genuinely excited when a new Madonna album comes out. I've taken days off school, work, I even came home from University (five hour drive) to get the "Bedtime Stories" album. And now we have "Rebel Heart" - I wanted to listen to the leaked version, but I didn't, cause Madonna didn't want me to. So it was killing me I hadn't heard it fully, and yesterday I did - and it was worth the wait!

Madonna Week: 11 Best Non-Album Tracks

Day 6 of Madonna Week, and time for another little countdown. Last day tomorrow, and it's a review of "Rebel Heart", so check in then! This time it's my favourite 11 Madonna tracks that never appeared on a "proper" album, they may have been from soundtracks or on greatest hits collections, or just a stand alone track. There were a few great ones that missed the list, tracks like "Gambler" or "Hey You". But I truly love the 11 on the list, hence the reason for 11 - I just couldn't get rid of one to make it 10!

Madonna Week: Classic Album Review - American Life

Time to continue Madonna Week, and how I've loved writing these posts and thanks for all the support - yesterday's blog was my most read blog of all time! A big thanks to Madonna Nation on Twitter for the retweet! Anyway, today, and it's time for a classic album review, this time it's the much maligned "American Life", a favourite of mine and also many Madonna fans.

Single of the Week: Masterpiece - Jessie J

Let's take a break from Madonna Week to take a look at my single of the week, this great number from the uber talented Jessie J. It's great to see "Masterpiece" hit top 20 in Australia, especially after "Burnin' Up" didn't do well - and I adore that song, even if I can't take 2 Chainz seriously at all!

Madonna Week: Best Album Tracks

Another day, another Madonna blog - I am really enjoying writing these! It's so great to look back at an artist with such an amazing body of work. Today, I look back at all Madonna's album and pick my favourite album tracks. So many artists will make produce amazing singles but just throw together any old album track, but not our Queen, her album tracks are always exquisite. Now for the hard job, picking favourites!!

Madonna Week: First Singles Ranked in Order

Madonna Week continues, and it's an exciting day, it's all but been confirmed Madonna will head back to Australia next year. Exciting news indeed. Today's Madonna Week post sees me ranking the first singles from her albums. Now this was a tough task, considering I genuinely like all 13 songs listed below. Disclaimer, "Vogue" from "I'm Breathless" is not included, because it's not considered a solo album, it's considered a soundtrack. So here's my list in order, please tell me yours in the comments section.

Madonna Week: Top Ten Film Clips

Day two of Madonna week and time to highlight Madonna's best ten film clips. Knowing that Madonna is just as famous for her clips as she is her music, it was hard whittling it down to just 10!

Madonna is the consummate videographer, she doesn't just make film clips, she makes short films. When you talk about artists who make the best clips, you think of names like Michael Jackson, Beyonce and Madonna. With an evolving image, stunning visuals and the Queen of Style, Madonna film clips never disappoint.
